When it comes to searching for a newborn photographer, it may feel quite daunting. There are different styles to consider - do you want a posed session? Lifestyle (unposed)? A mixture? Do you prefer a natural style or do you want something more elaborate?

Newborn sessions with Jenna Renée Photography take place in my home studio in Mount Maunganui, Tauranga. It's a relaxed vibe and takes around two hours - allowing time for cuddles and feeds as needed.

Your session includes a variety of "bean bag" poses. My style is natural and baby led but even those natural images are gently posed. Mostly neutral tones keep the spotlight on your baby. I don’t personally do composite images - this isn't my personal style. I want to capture your baby as they are so you will have beautiful portraits to look back on of your sweet little bundle. I also love to capture those in between moments too. Sweet stretches and oh so cute expressions can sometimes be the favourites!

There will usually be a couple of prop set ups - a simple box and a bowl or basket. This adds more variety to your gallery. It's also fun when baby comes back for a milestone session to use the same prop again to show how much they've grown!

Macro images are perfect for remembering those teeny tiny details.

I always encourage family photos as well. With older siblings we usually do this part first. It can get boring for toddlers to hang around, so this way another parent or family member can take them home or off to the beach or playground once they've done their part.
